Together with Western Water, we are creating a new water corporation called Greater Western Water that will service the city, the fast-growing area west of Melbourne and surrounding communities.


From 1 July 2021, Greater Western Water will bring together the best of both water businesses to enhance customer service and water security and provide more affordable services for our communities. With an expected 100,000 new customers over the next 10 years, Greater Western Water will also offer new job opportunities as we increase our capacity to meet future demand.


The opportunity

This newly created position will see you work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand and convey requirements from business processes, tools and a people perspective. Performing this critical step will provide IT with deeper insights and contribute to the successful delivery of IT solutions that meet operational business needs and align to strategic plans.


The position responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating delivery initiatives gathered by the IT Business Partners into requirements which are actionable and executable for the delivery of solutions
  • Reporting and governance
  • Financial Modelling and Pricing

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in utilities
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and solutions mindset
  • Previous experience working in a collaborative environment with Design thinking  or Human Centred Design development teams
  • Confidence in liaising with diverse stakeholders from across the organisation with varying needs
  • Exceptional communication skills (written/verbal) and ability to articulate complex concepts into varying formats including presentations and business case
  • Technically, experience with BA software tools including JIRA, Confluence, MS Office and MS Project
  • Tertiary qualifications in an IT discipline.

The role may initially commence as a work from home (WFH) arrangement and will require you to have reliable internet connectivity so you can access City West Water applications required to fulfill the role accountabilities. The WFH arrangement is non-permanent, flexible, and based on both the individual's and Team/Business changing needs and is initially negotiated on beginning your role with City West Water. Thereafter, it is renegotiated and changed as often as the individual and the Business agree to do so, and also in compliance with State government directions on COVID Safe working practices.
